Dear `<redacted>`,
You're not going to believe it, but one day you're going to be a *professor.* It's going to be everything you think it is and everything you can't yet imagine.
The world will feel *strange* because it will be in a constant state of change and resistance to change. Technological progress juxtaposed against social disregard will feel jarring, as if the world is *forcing* you and everyone else to become something else altogether.
*Make yourself robust to transformation by staying **curious**.*
---
One day you will find that the value of words has dropped to zero, because humans will have *broken the truth.* Don't be scared. Always let your **actions** speak louder than your words. They're unambiguous in how you spend your labour and love.
You may feel crushed by the responsibility of your obligations, real or manufactured. Don't let that daunt you. Instead, learn to **rest well** so you can constantly surprise yourself: your *strength* under pressure; your *adaptability* under circumstances out of your control.
But you will feel *lonelier* than ever, despite knowing more people than your parents ever did. It will be difficult to muster hope, and some days hope will feel more like delusion. But persistence gives life the opportunity to remind you of *your impact on other people.* It will be hard to see and harder to remember because your success outlives you by design.
Trust me when I say it's the only thing that *really* matters.
With love,
`<redacted>`
